Folic acid is one of the vitamins of the B complex and it is characterized as B9 vitamin and is a water soluble vitamin. Folic acid is available naturally in several vegetables and food items. The vegetables that are rich in content of folic acid are green leafy vegetables. The best way to consume folic acid for the daily needs of the human body is through vegetables as they are a natural and rich resource of it.

Pregnant women are also recommended to consume a lot of green leafy vegetables that are rich in folic acid through out their pregnancy. Here are some vegetables with folic acid that people can consume.

By over cooking green leafy vegetable, the folic acid is destroyed and there would be no benefit of eating it. Other kinds of food that is rich in folic acid Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, parsnips, eggplant, and even asparagus. Fruits that are a rich source of folic acid are papaya, kiwi, dates, figs and even bananas.

Most vegetables that have folic acid can be had in the form of salads easily. It is easy for anyone to fix up a bowl of salad with some dressing in order to make the salad tasty. The best way to get the most of the folic acid is to have the vegetables without cooking. Spinach and cheese make a great combination and people can make interesting salads using them.
