      Morning sickness during pregnancy is actually a misnomer because you can be sick at any time of the day and not necessary only in the morning. Most pregnant women experience some about of nausea during pregnancy while there are few who mind even end up vomiting because of the nausea.

      Doctors have not been able to explain why some women feel fine during pregnancy while the others have morning sickness for months. Some times even the same woman might have different degrees of morning sickness each time she is pregnant. However, what we do know is that there seems to be some correlation between morning sickness and the level of hCG, the pregnancy hormone. If the levels of hCG are high, the morning sickness is worse. However, if a pregnancy is destined for miscarriage, it has been noticed that the hCG levels are usually low with less severe morning sickness symptoms. Therefore, most doctors consider morning sickness as a sign of healthy pregnancy.

        Most pregnant women have morning sickness in their first trimester. The morning sickness reaches its peak between week 9 and 10 and actually starts reducing by week 14 to 16. Most pregnant women actually end up feeling much better by the time they are in the middle of their pregnancy.

      If you are suffering from morning sickness and you tend to vomit, you can be assured that the act of vomiting does not hurt the fetus in any way whatsoever. However, you should ensure that you do not get dehydrated because of vomiting and you should try to keep liquids and fluids down as long as possible. Generally when women are suffering from morning sickness they are unable to eat. Do not fret over it because you will make it all up later. Eat when you feel you are able to.

       Morning sickness is definitely a sign of healthy pregnancy and you can be assured that like all other symptoms of pregnancy, this too will pass and you will feel much better as your pregnancy progresses.
